The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the Arizona Board of Regents on behalf of Arizona State University (ASU) to advance sustainable algal production. DOE funding would be used to establish the Algae Testbed Public-Private Partnership (ATP3) that would create a sustainable network of regional Testbeds that accelerate innovation, dissemination, and supports the growth of the emerging algal fuels industry.
