Bonneveille Power Administration (BPA) is proposing to fund the City of Salem purchase of the Minto Island property (Property), a 307-acre parcel of land located southwest of Salem in Marion County, Oregon. The City of Salem will own and manage the Minto Island property for fish and wildlife conservation purposes and BPA will receive a conservation easement to ensure that the habitat values on the property are always protected. This funding partially fulfills commitments made in the 2010 “Willamette River Basin Memorandum of Agreement Regarding Wildlife Habitat Protection and Enhancement between the State of Oregon and the Bonneville Power Administration”.
