The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to North Dakota State University's Center for Nanoscale Energy. DOE funding would be used for research and development in 4 areas; 1) photovoltaic, 2) lithium ion batteries, 3) catalysis studies of the oxidative cleavage of unsaturated compounds found in plants and its application to fuel cells, and 4) membrane development for osmosis water purification plants.
