Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is conducting a humate injection study at the F Area Hazardous Waste Management Facility (FHWMF) as part of the Department of Energy EM-12 Office of Soil and Groundwater Remediation “Attenuation-Based Remedies for the Subsurface Applied Field Research Initiative (ABRS AFRI)”. SRNL will perform a humate injection test in a monitoring well downgradient of the seepage basins at the FHWMF to evaluate the use of a humate amendment for the stabilization of dissolved uranium, strontium-90 and iodine-129 in an acidic groundwater plume.
