The U.S. Department of Energy is proposing to provide federal funding to the Michigan Energy Office (MEO) under the DOE's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) State Energy Program (SEP). MEO proposes to provide DOE SEP ARRA funding to Advanced Battery Concepts (ABC) through MEO's DOE ARRA-funded revolving loan fund. Funding would be used to purchase and install equipment to manufacture components for ABC's GreenSeal Bi-polar lead-acid batteries. The new equipment would enhance ABC's existing manufacturing capabilities. The GreenSeal Bi-polar batteries achieve greater energy, greater power, and longer life than traditional batteries.
