This task is to identify alternative chemical to Vertrel MCA for use as a storage medium for depleted uranium (DU) coupons. This task will involve cleaning DU coupons of their oxide layer using a nitric acid solution, sectioning the coupons down to size, and storing the sectioned coupons in the chemicals of choice for various lengths of time. An appropriate replacement to Vertrel MCA will be judged based on the alternative's ability to limit oxide layer or other residue formation compared to Vertrel.
