DOE's Office of Legacy Management (LM) is proposing to conduct routine inspections, monitoring, and maintenance at the Rifle disposal and processing sites, as needed within specified limitations. These activities aim to gather information, complete maintenance needs, and preserve site integrity with minimal environmental impact and would fulfill the general license requirements in Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations Section 40.27 (10 CFR 40.27) which identifies LM as the long-term custodian of the sites.
