The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO) and Cereza Energy Center LLC propose to construct a photovoltaic solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) facility (Cereza Energy Center or Facility) on the Hanford Site using a phased approach involving site characterization and environmental monitoring followed by design, construction, and operation of the Facility. Site characterization and environmental monitoring activities described herein would be performed by Cereza Energy Center LLC in a proposed 10,380 acre project area available for industrial uses in the southern portion of the Hanford Site. Within the 10,380 acre project area, Cereza Energy Center LLC would identify up to 8,000 acres as the proposed Facility easement for final DOE-HFO approval.
