The City of Batavia Electric Department will convert existing overhead medium-voltage power distribution to underground infrastructure within the Woodland Hills Subdivision in Batavia, Kane County, Illinois. Work will occur mainly within existing roadway rights-of-way and utility easements. Activities include removing overhead poles and lines, installing underground conduit (HDPE), cables, spliceboxes, pad-mounted transformers, and switchgear using directional boring to reduce surface disturbance.
