Fall River Rural Electric Cooperative plans to underground 3.22 miles of existing distribution lines in a heavily forested area in and next to Caribou-Targhee National Forest, close to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Undergrounding these lines will mitigate wildfire risk, decrease electrical outages, and ease access for first responders.
