CX-034492: Owensboro Municipal Utilities: 138kV Tower Replacement Project

Procurement: Issue and award EPC contracts, solicit bids in three phases (July 2025–January 2027). Construction: Phase 1: Foundation construction (October 2026) - excavate and drill shaft for concrete foundation. Phase 2: Tower erection (November 2026–February 2027) - Pre-assemble tower legs and panels at ground level, lift sections by crane, bolt in place, and install new hardware and insulators, transfer existing conductors to the new structure, and remove temporary conductor supports. Phase 3: Demolition of existing tower and reconnection of conductors (March–April 2027) - Torch-cut lattice members in 20–25 ft sections, lower them by crawler crane, and stage on timber mats, remove footing hardware and torch off anchor bolts flush with grade, load approximately 475,000 lb of galvanized steel on trailers for off-site recycling.
