The project plans to perform vegetation management along a 22.2 mile access road with a Fecon Mulcher and an Excavator with a mulcher head barged to Tyonek and back for this project. Activities include mulching the shoulders of roads 10 feet or wider to create access for fire-fighting equipment to reach the grid and natural gas pipeline. In some cases larger trees will be cut and fell back into the woods rather than mulched up.
