The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) re-published a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Environmental Assessment (EA), including a signed DOE Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Non-Capacity Amendment of License, North Georgia Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 2354-152 (DOE/EA-2298), which assesses the potential environmental impacts of LPO's consideration to provide potential financial assistance (a federal loan guarantee) for the Tugalo Development Units 1-4 Replacement and Upgrade Project. The Tugalo Development (dam) is located on the Talullah River in Habersham County, Georgia and Oconee County, South Carolina. The Tugalo Development is one of six hydroelectric developments in the North Georgia Hydroelectric Project.
