Justin Bis, U.S. Department of Energy

 

Justin Bis is the Chief of Staff for the Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In this role, he works alongside OTT leadership to maximize the impact of DOE’s investments in technology commercialization, strengthen coordination across the agency, and ensure long-term success.

Mr. Bis has more than a decade of experience in government service and public life. He previously served at the White House as Special Assistant to President Trump and Deputy Director of the Presidential Personnel Office, where he managed the appointment of senior government officials responsible for regulating the U.S. financial and energy markets. At DOE, he was the Director of Intergovernmental and External Affairs under Secretary Dan Brouillette, serving as the department’s primary liaison to trade associations, labor unions, and state, local, and tribal governments.

Beyond his federal service, Mr. Bis was the Executive Director of the Ohio Republican Party and Ohio Deputy State Director for the Donald J. Trump for President campaign.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northern Michigan University.
