Summary
Janus Solar, LLC (Janus), is proposing to construct, operate, maintain, and decommission an up to 80-megawatt alternating current nameplate capacity, utility-scale solar photovoltaic facility and a 20-MWAC battery energy storage system, with a storage duration of four hours, at the Janus Solar Project (Solar Project). Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) issued a draft EA for Janus Solar Project (DOE/EA-2254), which assesses the potential environmental impacts of the proposed Janus interconnection of the Janus Solar Project to the WAPA transmission system at WAPA’s future Sand Creek Switching Station, to be located adjacent to the proposed Solar Project.
