DOE Total Funding: $199,983
Project Term: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023
Funding Type: SBIR Phase 1

Project Objective

CHEERS Inc. will integrate Home Energy Score™ with the approved home energy rating software platform used in California (CHEERS), resulting in a single tool for contractors to assess and produce data for recommended cost, energy, and emissions savings. Incorporating the Score calculations into California’s existing software will give utilities improved data to develop energy-efficiency measures that reduce emissions across the state’s 14 million single-family homes. The coordination also enables the Score to test the impact of electrification upgrades on costs and peak demand and expand its use throughout California.
