Conflict Resolution Week is Here!

Since 2005, communities across the world have celebrated peaceful conflict resolution every October. The ADR Office is excited to invite you to three events open to all DOE federal and contractor employees in celebration of Conflict Resolution Day on Thursday, October 17th.

September 26 (12:00-1:30 ET): Panel Discussion on “Solarpunk at DOE: Imagining Optimistic Futures Through Challenging Times.”  A wide-ranging discussion featuring leaders and experts throughout the DOE enterprise on how to plan for bright futures even in the midst of difficult challenges and tough changes.

October 16 (12:00-1:30 ET): ADR Open Enrollment Workshop: “Within Bounds: Setting and Keeping Boundaries.”  We all need them and they’re crucial to conflict-healthy workplaces, but we often struggle with establishing and enforcing appropriate boundaries in our workplace and personal lives.  This 90-minute workshop is designed to help us understand how to discuss boundaries and empower yourself and others to enforce them.

October 17 (12:00-1:30 ET): ADR Lunchtime Series ft. Dr. Ryan Martin “The Anger Professor” on “Dealing with Angry People.”  Approximately 33% of people describe interacting with angry people regularly. Such interactions can be stressful, frustrating, or even scary. This compelling talk explores the different ways anger can look in others and outlines different approaches for dealing with angry people.
