Expression of Interest for Commercial Decontamination of Nickel with Radiological Surface Contamination

The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) seeking industry input for operationally mature technologies that could potentially support the recovery and recycle of ~6400 tons of radiologically surface-contaminated nickel recovered from the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (GDP) decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) Project.

Message to Responders:

Due to the classified subject area related to the EOI, DOE is unable to provide additional technical information or respond to technical questions.  Approximately 30-45 days after receipt of initial technical proposals, DOE will invite responding parties with a viable methodology/approach to decontaminate the nickel barrier, appropriate FOCI and authorized informational access to a DOE-sponsored briefing and Question-and-Answer session.

This EOI is intended to provide DOE industry-related information. As such, any responders not selected to participate in the briefing will not be precluded in any subsequent acquisition actions.

If you have questions specifically pertaining to this EOI process, please submit them via email to EOI@pppo.gov.  EOI process-related questions with responses will be posted (below) on this webpage.
