Funding will support the project team's small-scale research and development activities to simulate and field test the flow dynamics of vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) to optimize VAWT arrays that could result in an increase in power generation from constructive interactions between rotors, and a reduction in the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) as compared to the state-of-the-art.
