Concrete culverts will be transferred from the Solid Waste Management Facility (SWMF) for storage at the K-Area Complex (KAC). The concrete culverts will be located in the Protected Area of KAC as an enhanced security provision for stored plutonium materials, consistent with the K-Area plutonium storage mission. Culverts storage duration in KAC is ultimately impacted by plutonium materials disposition decisions, but is anticipated to be less than 15 years.
