The State of Oregon will provide $283,700 in Recovery Act funds to Three Rivers School District to purchase and install a biomass boiler as replacement of an oil-fired boiler at the Illinois Valley High School. The current oil boiler is a 5.0 MBTU/hr (million British Thermal Units per hour) package Kewanee boiler with the modulating controls locked at 50% firing rate. The old boiler is to remain in place as backup and peak heating use.
