A fuel assembly has been selected for analysis in Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). The assembly will be loaded in an 8-ton General Purpose Shipping Cask, and shipped per Onsite Safety Assessment (OSA) and Onsite Package Authorization Form (OPAF) documents to SRNL. The sample will be collected for forensic-quality analyses by the SRNL and the assembly will be returned to Spent Fuel Project (SFP). Data from sampling will be used to benchmark computer reactor models. The sampling process will provide evaluation of the SRNL nuclear forensic program.
