An alternative to the calcium hydroxide trapping reagent will be investigated, demonstrating capture of carbon dioxide as magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) using magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) in the Aqueous-Froth Carbon Dioxide (AFCO2) scrubber and the thermal regeneration/reuse of the magnesium hydroxide.
