Monday June 25th, U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry will join Yuval Steinitz, Minister of Energy from Israel, to sign an Implementation Agreement.
June 21, 2018WASHINGTON, D.C. — Monday June 25th, U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry will join Yuval Steinitz, Minister of Energy from Israel at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for a signing of an Implementation Agreement to establish the U.S.-Israel Chamber of Excellence in Energy, Engineering and Water Technology. In March 2018, the United States Congress appropriated $4 million in the Department of Energy budget to establish this center for joint research and development with Israel. This sum will be matched by the Israeli government as well as by private sector partners, for a total targeted initial sum of $16 million dedicated to this project.

On Monday Secretary Perry will also host the European Union and members of the Three Seas Initiative for a meeting at The Department of Energy headquarters in Washington, D.C. During this meeting, energy leaders will have the opportunity to discuss ways that industry can play a role in these countries and the importance of continued Transatlantic cooperation to promote energy security. Media will have the opportunity to cover the top of the event, including opening remarks. The remaining portion of the event will be closed press.
