The State of Indiana will provide $4,000,000 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to Caterpillar, Incorporated for the purchase of equipment to modify the engine production lines at its existing facility located at 3701 State Road 26, Lafayette, Indiana 47905 (Tippecanoe County). The recipient intends to upgrade three engineering test cells and one production test cell, as well as upgrading crankshaft production. The upgrades will increase the production capability of the plant and result in a manufacturing process that produces engines with reduced emissions.
