Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant fund. The City of Culver City is proposing to hire a qualified consultant to prepare technical specifications and prepare appropriate plans/drawings for lighting retrofit upgrade at two parking structures to energy efficient lighting. The selected contractor will also provide project management of actual retrofit. The proposed lighting will include but is not limited to light-emitting diode (LED) lighting, induction lighting; hybrid combination of both or fluorescent lighting. Additional scope can include installing sensors to allow lighting to come on when vehicles enter structures during off-peak times. Lighting at both facilities is currently on 24 hours per day; 7 days per week. The proposed energy efficiency measures will result in savings to the City's General Fund due to a decrease in utility usage. The City's General Fund is used to fund general City operations including all park operations and recreational programs.
