The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity will provide Center Ethanol Company, LLC (Center) with $1,245,900 in Recovery Act funds for the purchase and installation of a new waste-heat boiler system. The boiler will be placed at a biohazard incinerator facility located approximately 3/4-mile from Center's facility in Sauget, Illinois. The boiler will use waste heat from the incinerator to produce the steam needed at the plant. The steam produced will be transported via an above-ground pipeline to Center's facility following existing road rights-of-way for most of the distance. Approximately one tenth of a mile of the pipeline route will cross vegetated land that includes rail and utility rights-of-way. Center Ethanol will not require new rights-of-way for the pipeline route. The boiler will replace two boilers currently in operation at Center's facility .
