The University of Nebraska-Lincoln proposes to use federal funding to increase the fundamental knowledge of lipid biosynthetic pathways, lipid transport, and storage and secretion mechanisms of Chlamydomonas and Chlorella algae. They also plan to develop new and improved technologies for genome manipulation of algae and establish a state-of-the-art Photobioreactor Research Facility.
