Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity would use $500,000 of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Department of Energy funding to purchase and install two 100 kilowatt wind turbines at the Lake Land Community College campus located at 5001 Lake Land Boulevard, Mattoon, Illinois. The wind turbines would be installed on 120-foot monopole towers and would be 145 feet tall at the blade tip. The electricity generated by the wind turbines will be used for on-site power needs.
