The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to Colorado State University (CSU) for the design, development, fabrication, and laboratory testing of a thermally activated turbo-compression cooling system to absorb ultra-low grade waste heat and convert it into cooling for industrial and commercial applications. Design and fabrication of components would occur in Racine, Wisconsin by Modine Manufacturing (and possibly other unspecified Modine Manufacturing facilities) and Barber-Nichols in Arvada, Colorado. System design and fabrication, component integration, and laboratory testing would occur at CSU located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
