The Howard County, Maryland American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Activity 2 - Landfill Forced Draft Heater project involves the design, installation and operation of (a) forced draft heaters in the existing Alpha Ridge Landfill maintenance shop to heat the service bays, and (b) supply and return pipelines connecting the existing landfill maintenance shop with the proposed (to be funded by others) landfill gas-to-energy system. The entire construction and operation of the project would take place within the Alpha Ridge Landfill property boundaries which is owned by Howard County, Maryland.
