Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program Project Purpose Statement: To complete an energy efficiency lighting upgrade to multiple city facilities including: City Hall, Pubic Works, Recreation Center, Fire Station #2, Parks and Recreation Center Shop, and the Pavilion. Summary: An energy assessment has been performed for lighting of the following City facilities: City Hall, Pubic Works, Recreation Center, Fire Station #2, Parks and Recreation Center Shop, and the Pavilion. Based on one assessment, the total cost to upgrade the lighting in of the above listed facilities is $184,085.25. In addition to the $50,000 Energy Efficiency Grant, Rocky Mountain Power?s Utility Subsidy program can reduce the City's cost by an additional $32,766.00. Net project cost to upgrade the lighting at all facilities will be $101,320.26. To allow for any unexpected contingencies, the City of Green River has budgeted $125,000 to see the completion of the retrofits. This is a valuable project to the City of Green River due to the overall cost savings to the City that these retrofits will produce. First year total savings is estimated to be $44,917.17. This is a 44% first year return on investment. With this savings, the entire project will be paid back in an estimated 2.26 years. After the project is paid back, the City will continue to see savings. The continued savings can then be redistributed into other cost savings projects, such as other energy upgrades to facilities.
