Department of Energy and cost share funding will be used by Spartanburg County to design, permit, construct, operate and maintain a landfill gas to energy project to utilize methane gas generated at the Wellford landfill. They would build the infrastructure necessary to collect, treat and compress and transport the methane from the landfill.
