The Project Activity Sheet titled "Bike Project - Wendover and Beal Street Intersection" submitted by the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, involves the installation of a 500 foot long bike path connecting Beal Street with Wendover Road and Marvin Road. The proposed bike path would be located along the south side of Westover Road in a commercially developed area of the City with dense traffic. The proposed bike path would allow for cyclists to safely cross over and/or merge onto Westover Road at a clearly marked location. In addition to the bike path, this project includes implementation of the following cycling safety measures: ramps up to and down from vehicle intersections, signal call buttons at vehicle intersections, and bicycle path markings and lanes on roadways.
