DOE funds will be used to conduct a site assessment of the Christmas Valley site in central Oregon to determine if future development of the site is feasible for a large scale solar power system, as well as geothermal and wind resources. The property is Bureau of Land Management land formerly under U.S. Air Force Control as an Air Combat Radar transmitter site.
