This project is for the development of validated software models for distributed generators, and using these models to simulate high levels of photovoltaic (PV) grid integration. The models reflect power inverters tied to PV resources. The models would be verified by data collected from various PV projects throughout the State of Florida. Existing or planned PV systems from partner utilities would be identified for study. Data collection systems would be installed based on a priority list of sites identified as part of the study. These data systems would collect, at a minimum, voltage, current and reactive power numbers from the PV systems and report the data to Florida State University.
