University of California, San Diego (UCSD) will be using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding to develop modeling tools for high penetration scenarios of Photovoltaic on a distribution system. The majority of this project will be the development of several computational models that will be used for power and management and forecasting. These models will then be utilized at UCSD's existing photovoltaic systems. Additional work will include radiation monitoring by means of a small commercial off-the-shelf device that has the appropriate safety and outdoor ratings and which only requires standard electricity.
