CX-016842: Demonstration and Cost Analysis of an Acoustic Building Infiltration Measurement System

Measuring sound waves that leak through building envelopes. The key technical objectives are (1) demonstrate use of SonicLQ, an Acoustic Building Infiltration Measurement System for measuring building infiltration and locating and sizing specific leaks at Fort Leavenworth and Hill Air Force Base (2) compare the accuracy, measurement time, and costs of SonicLQ to conventional blower door and infrared camera testing methods, and (3) begin development of a new U.S. Army Corps of Engineers measurement test protocol for Acoustic Building Infiltration Measurement System devices.
