Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. The current heating/cooling system uses water as the medium which is circulated through a cooling tower. The tower is frequently in need of repair and is currently being nursed to sustain operation, as many parts and the tower itself is no longer produced. A replacement tower would provide a more stable cooling system as well as offer substantial energy savings and increase the energy efficiency of the system. It is estimated the new system would significantly reduce environmental impact by replacing the two-story tower with a low-profile cross flow fluid cooler. In addition the new system should provide approximately $7,900 in energy cost savings per year and would qualify for an energy rebate from the utility service provider.
