The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the University of Maryland to design, develop, fabricate, and test small diameter tube heat exchangers for HVAC applications.  Design and development activities would occur in laboratories at the University of Maryland, fabrication would occur at Heat Transfer Technologies, LLC, in Illinois, and testing would occur at the University of Maryland and the laboratories of other industrial partners within the United States over a three year period.  Oak Ridge National Laboratory would be involved in support of heat exchanger design.
