The existing drainage channel located to the west side of T-Area closure cap was experiencing heavy erosion. Modification to the channel was required to satisfy flow conditions and minimize the erosion. Installation of a temporary road to access the channel area was required and necessitated the removal of some trees in the floodplain. It is now desired to keep the access road on a permanent basis to accommodate the inspection/maintenance of the cap and drainage system which is required by the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act Record of Decision, Post Construction Report and Land Use Control Implementation Plan for the T Area Operable Unit. To minimize erosion, vegetation will also be planted between the road and wetland.
