Texas A&M University, in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin and Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation, proposes to extend and enhance the experimental tests previously conducted using the existing water-cooled Reactor Cavity Cooling System (RCCS) in close collaboration with the water-cooled research team at Argonne National Laboratory. Experiments will be conducted to investigate the water flow behavior within the risers and headers and the effects of change in geometry and system configuration. The experimental activity will be conducted using two scaled water-cooled RCCS integral test facilities (1/21 and 1/4 scale design respectively) which have been constructed and operated by the two participant universities.
