For the past 27 years, the 3 Rivers road Runners Club has sponsored a triathlon event on Labor Day weekend. The 2017 event is proposed to start and finish at the Washington State University Tri-Cities Campus. The Club has requested authorization from the Department of Energy Richland Operations Office, Office of Access and Use, to use Hanford paved roadways for a portion of the bike race.
