The purpose of the proposed action is to design, construct and operate a Maintenance Support Building (MSB), designated TRA-1643, at the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Complex. The MSB is designed as a modern facility, replacing the current outdated maintenance shop (TRA-653), that will more effectively provide maintenance support for activities at ATR. The MSB will be a non-nuclear facility comprising adequate shop space for the TRA fitters and welders, space for kitting and staging (collecting and assembling materials and equipment to support maintenance work), space for a tool crib, and space for personnel support (e.g., restrooms, showers, break areas and office spaces).
