The team establishes an energy conservation program, as deemed appropriate for LM operations and approved by LM.
February 28, 2024
Mission
The team collects, tracks and evaluates energy use at LM facilities in accordance with statutory requirements.
The team communicates to affected groups the goals set out in these requirements and reports on performance in achieving those goals. The team promotes energy conservation through the:
- Integration of energy conservation measures into all phases of LM’s work.
- Energy and Water Audits
- Identifying Energy Targets, Objectives, and Energy Performance Indicators
- Identifying Significant Energy Users
- Implementation of renewable energy projects.
- Implementation an energy management system (EnMS) in line with ISO 50001.
Scope
- Implement energy conservation measures.
- Track and report energy use and consumption in LM buildings.
- Perform energy evaluations at EISA covered facilities to identify energy conservation measures (ECMs).
- Promote energy use reduction through implementation of an EnMS.
- Evaluate opportunities to install new life cycle cost effective renewable and clean energy projects at LM sites.
- Coordinates implementation of the EnMS
- Reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG Emissions (e.g., stationary sources, purchased electricity, purchased heating and cooling).
- Meter all individual buildings for electricity, natural gas, and steam where cost-effective and appropriate.
- Reduce energy intensity (Btu per ft2) of LM buildings.
Key Expectations
- Maintain/implement a plan that integrates energy efficiency into daily operations
- Take steps to assure LM sites meet energy intensity baseline reductions
- Communicate and promote energy efficiency, GHG reduction, and renewable energy awareness through training and presentations for LM and contractor employees.
- Report performance metrics against goals.
