Funding will support the project team's small-scale, research and development activities to simplify the design of fluidized bed reactor systems for renewable hydrocarbon fuels by burning a small amount of biomass inside the reactor to more efficiently retain and use the heat, thus eliminating then need for external, indirect heating.
