The Western Area Power Administration is proposing to replace the existing Hassayampa Tap with the new Hassayampa Switching Station, to be situated immediately adjacent to the Hassayampa Tap. The existing Hassayampa Tap will be demolished. Additional work includes replacing the existing single-circuit conductor between the Hassayampa Tap and the Hassayampa Pumping Plant with new conductor between the proposed Hassayampa Switching Station and the Hassayampa Pumping Plant. Also, a new 0.75 mile 230 kilovolt double-circuit line will be installed from the Hassayampa Pumping Plant to Arizona Public Service's newly built Sun Valley Substation.
