The canyon exhaust sand filters require a periodic inspection (currently 5-year) to assess the structural integrity of the sand filter. The current access buildings are wood structures with metal siding. These two structures are deteriorating and need to be replaced. The existing access ports (hatches/manholes) on top of the 294-H and 294-1H sand filter are shown on roof plans W157910 and W449993. The 294-H sand filter roof is approximately 9 inches thick and the 294-1H sand filter roof is 14 inches thick.
