The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the California Energy Commission for the design and construction of a 1 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation system and energy efficiency upgrades at a Water Pollution Control Plant, in the City of San Leandro through a program called the Local Government Challenge. Additionally, San Leandro would develop education and outreach materials on the project for other cities across California.
