The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Arizona State University (ASU) to reduce silver consumption in photovoltaic cells by a factor of almost ten by replacing screen-printed silver pastes with contact-dispensed, reactive inks that produce lower-resistivity metallizations at lower temperatures and with thinner films.
